Thank you card with SSS Flowers-on-my-mind stamp set

Thank you card with SSS Flowers-on-my-mind stamp set

Hello friends, the most common cards I find myself making are the Thank-You cards. I do try to maintain a gratitude journal – a small note book where I write my thank-you’s every night. I find that just spending 10 mins a day doing this makes me put things in perspective. It also re-reminds me of the blessed life I have and all the people in my life that make it magical. No wonder I do feel like making Thank-You cards most often :-)

Thank you card using stamps from SSS March 2015 card kit

For making this card, I used the following supplies:

1. Before I started making cards by stamping, I had purchased a box of 50 cards from clearance section of Target. These are made by K&Company and have beautiful patterned cards and matching envelopes with design on the inside. The paper of each note card is not very thick at all, but I used it for this card because I knew I was going to add another layer on top. I can’t find the exact product to link to, but I am sure you will find some pretty beautiful blank card sets on amazon.

2. A regular white card stock.

3. A couple cute buttons like these here.

4. Stamp set that came with March 2015 card kit by Simon Says Stamp – FLOWERS ON MY MIND

5. Blue and green ink from Studio G, but even these mini ink pads will work just fine.

6. Honeycomb / hexagon embossing folder. Mine is this one from Darice, but this one from Cuttlebug would also work just great.

Here’s how I made the card:

1. Cut the white card stock to be slightly smaller than the card base. I did not measure the dimensions, but used the card itself as my guide for size.

2. I inserted the white cardstock inside my embossing folder about 3/4 of the way and taped them together. Then I ran it through my BigShot as usual.

3. Just below the area where embossing ended, I stamped the thank-you-greeting from “Flowers on my mind” set. I used brown ink from Studio G, but I wish I had used black StazOn, because I think that would’ve looked better :-)

4. Next I turned the paper around and adjusted paper so that I could get the raised edges on same side. I left a very little area below the stamped greeting and embossed the piece again.

5. Next I stamped a flower and two leaves from the same stamp set and fussy cut all three of these images.

6. Finally I adhered all the pieces and also added a couple cute buttons from my stash to finish it off.

Hope you like this and feel inspired to try something like this. Do try and let me know how it went :-)

Stay blessed,
~Varada
