Hi friends, has it ever happened to you that you saw a patterned paper and fell completely in love with it? Like it got stuck in your head like one of the songs on repeat mode? Well, when I saw the black and gold diamond patterned paper from My Minds Eye – Fancy That collection, that’s what happened to me. So, I used it on the card front, on the inside as well as on the envelope!

Card front

I made a black top folding A2 sized card base and covered most of the front using this gorgeous paper. I left only a small strip on the side uncovered, so that it stays plain black. I used foam tape to mount the patterned paper, for some dimension.

Next I used another paper from the same collection to gold heat emboss the sentiment “birthday wishes”. I used Martha Stewart antique gold embossing powder. The paper itself had some gold foiled dots.

I mounted this sentiment using some foam tape and tucked another sticker that says “Celebrate” next to it. This sticker was also from the same “Fancy That” collection. I trimmed the side of a sticker sheet {the area that we usually discard after peeling off all the stickers} and tucked it in between the sentiment and the sticker for some added interest. {Waste not, want not :-) }

I also cut out one single diamond from the leftover patterned paper and added it to the sentiment panel.

Inside of the card

I die cut a vanilla card stock using the second largest stitched rectangle dies and adhered to the inside so I could write my message on it. I also trimmed down a strip of the same black-gold paper and adhered it at the bottom of this stitched rectangle die cut panel to bring some of the shininess to the inside of this card.

Envelope

I used one of the premade vanilla envelopesI had on hand for this card and embellished it to match my card. Simply took another small strip of the same paper, gave it a banner tail and adhered on one side of the envelope. East peasy.

I loved how this card turned out. Hope our friend who received it liked it too :-)
