Hi friends, I am so excited to share tip #10 for our series #vsbackgroundcheck! This is one of my favorite techniques – repeat stamping. In this, we repeatedly stamp an image or a sentiment on a certain area or all over the background. Like I did in the two cards below:
In the first card, I stamped and fussy cut images for my focal point using Tuzedo Black ink. Then I colored them using Spectrum Noir alcohol markers. I could not fussy cut the fine thread on the tea-bag, so I used real needle-thread to attach the two pieces together. :-)
Initially I just placed the focal point images where I wanted them and held them in place using magnets in the MISTI. I did not actually use MISTI to stamp the sentiment around those images, I used regular acrylic blocks, but just having the two images stay put helped me plan where I wanted all the sentiments to be stamped. I also heat embossed some of the sentiments using white embossing powder.
In the second card, I went all over the card front stamping images in two colors. I kept the colors same as the two little cups from the patterned paper square I had picked up for my focal point. I also added smiley faces in those cups and tea bags. They are so adorable! I also stamped several hearts from the same set.
For the focal point, I picked one more patterned paper squares and used a corner punch to add some interest. I adhered it to the card base using some foam tape. I also added a strip of patterned paper to anchor the focal point. As last step, I added some generous amounts of glossy accents and a couple glitter hearts to the card.
I am sharing links to the supplies I’ve used for these cards – click on the picture or link to go directly to the product. Wherever available, I have used affiliate links, which means when you make a purchase, I receive a small commission (at no extra cost to you) which I use to run this blog. I truly appreciate your support!
