Celebrate Card using SSS Floral Bliss stamp set

Hi friends, looks like I am totally into ink blending these days. I have one more quick and simple card to share today which uses this same technique. This one was made using the Simon Says Stamp Floral Bliss stamp set that came with their June Card kit.

I started as usual by die cutting a stitched rectangle using the largest die from SSS stitched rectangle die set. On this I ink blended two hybrid inks from SSS – Watermelon and Lemon Zest. These both came in a set of mini ink cubes by Simon in their April 2017 card kit.

Next I heat set the blended colors, just for good measure and prepped the card surface with powder tool. This tool spreads some powder (that smells like baby powder) on the cardstock to remove the oil / other residue. This way the embossing powder sticks only to the stamped design and not anywhere else.

I stamped the main floral image from the stamp set on one side and heat embossed it using Hero Arts fine gold embossing powder. I also stamped and heat embossed the sentiment (“Celebrate”) in the same way. For the finishing touch, I added some iridescent sequins, mounted the panel on a dark chocolate card based and called this card done.
