Hello and welcome to another exciting post. Today we are celebrating the new release from Simon Says Stamp – SimonSaysLove. Thank you so much, SSS for sending me a beautiful die – Cupid’s Heart.
I created two samples for SSS FB live, one of which I am shared earlier. Another one is here for you today.
For this one I cut out a 8.5 x 11 SSS Cotton Candy cardstock into two parts length-wise. Then I scored and folded it from both ends at 2.5″ to create a gatefold card. Next I taped my die on each side making sure to line up the center of the die with the edge of paper and ran it through my Platinum die cutting machine.
I also die cut the same design using one red paper from my stash. I believe this is the one I got for one of my kid’s craft projects :-)
Then came the little-time-consuming-but-fun part – I closed both the gates of the card and carefully adhered each piece through its slot onto the inside of the card. In the center, I adhered the red cut out heart and also foam mounted a sentiment sticker “love”. This sticker came from the Pebbles Inc. Jen Hadfield Heart of Home sticker sheet included in Simon Says Stamp Nov 2017 card kit.
To make the front of the card more interesting, I stamped the leaf images from SSS Forget Me Not stamp set using Delicata Pink Shimmer ink in two corners. This added a tone-on-tone design with subtle shimmer. I also stamped a couple sentiments from the same set using SSS Hot Lips ink to tie everything together.
For your convenience, I am sharing links to the supplies I’ve used or the ones you can use for making similar cards – click on the picture or link to go directly to the product. Wherever available, I have used affiliate links, which means when you make a purchase, I receive a small commission (at no extra cost to you) which I use to run this blog. I truly appreciate your support!
