Hi friends, my
obsession love for Simon Says Stamp Beautiful Flowers stamp set is still going strong. Today I decided to combine it with Mica powders – one of my latest favorite mediums to use.
This card came together really quickly and although in pictures it does not show up that well, in real life it is just so dreamy gorgeous. I started by using one of the patterned papers that came in the same SSS June 2018 card kit – Fly Me Away. These are from ModaScrap Fly and Scrap 6×6 paper pack.
After treating it with my powder tool, I stamped the flowers image using VersaMark ink (the same clear sticky ink that is often used for heat embossing). Next using a dry brush, I took just the tiniest bits of teal/blue/green mica powders and colored over this image, tapping off excess. The fine shiny powder sticks to the delicate lines of the image and creates an almost ethereal look.
Rest of the steps are pretty simple and straightforward. I die cut this image using the large outline heart die that came in Spellbinders Jan 2018 Large Die of the month kit, stamped ‘Happy birthday’ sentiment from the same stamp set using Archival Black ink, foam mounted it on a white cardbase and added a sprinkling of blue/teal and black sequins.
Do give this a try – it’s something quick and easy too. Do let me know how you like this idea.
I am running a giveaway on Instagram this month. As some of you might know, July is my birthday month and this time I have decided to give one of my Instagram friends a gift! Do check it out for a chance to win $20 gift card to Simon Says Stamp. :-)
