Altenew fever is still going pretty strong here and today I combined two of my all time favorite sets for this card. I love the Painted flowers set and the painted butterflies one was on my wishlist for such a long time. I managed to get it in my last order and decided to play with these both together.
Yes, I have been digging the blue-yellow-green combo lately. And on one of my Instagram posts, several of you also said you wanted to see a version of another of my cards in blue-yellow (Yup, that one will be coming soon on Instagram for sure. Not sure I want to share it here though. So if you are not following me on Instagram, you might want to do that…)
For this card today, I used one of the ideas that Nichol Spohr shared on Instagram where she stamped a background stamp over stamped and colored flowers. I did my own version of the same. I started by die cutting a stitched rectangle panel using Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangle dies. On this panel, I stamped the SSS background stamp – You matter using Simon’s Barely Beige ink. This is a very soft beige ink and adds that perfect touch to these flowers. Here’s a closeup…
Next I used two distress inks – Stormy Sky and Tumbled Glass to stamp the flowers and Altenew Olive ink to stamp the leaves. For the butterflies I used Altenew Buttercream and Warm Sunshine inks. For all the outlines, I went with my trusted Archival Black ink. I added some matching sequins, a sentiment sticker, and also Wink of Stella to these flowers, leaves and butterflies. At the end, I added the finished panel to a black card base and called it done.
