#SSSFunAndFestive – Idea 2

#SSSFunAndFestive – Idea 2

Hi friends, hope you are having a great start to a weekend :-) I have one more idea to share with you using the Snowflake Tags die set from Simon Says Stamp’s latest release Fun and Festive.

For each of these cards, I cut out the tag and just behind the open snowflake area, added a circle of either foiled paper, or patterned paper, or glitter cardstock. This gives a fun peek through effect that is just so pretty.

I combined this peek-through-foiled-snowflake tag with a couple older SSS stamp sets to stamp additional snowflakes and a sentiment on the tag itself, added ribbons, mounted it on stitched rectangle panel cut out of patterned paper and sprinkled sequins to create a quick card.

In this second one, I layered patterned paper behind the snowflake. To keep with the purple-teal, non-traditional theme I layered a hemstitched rectangle panel on the background and also added a stripe of embossed foiled paper on one side. To give it a little extra depth, I did some light handed ink blending on my hemstitched rectangle panel with Seedless Preserves distress ink. To finish, I just added a single flat backed gem from Hero Arts.

In this one, I stamped on the tag with —. This cardbase is a ready-made one I bought from my local Joann and it has glitter on the front and back. On the inside it is plain white. Love it :-) Rest of the card was pretty straightforward – layered on a stitched rectangle patterned paper panel, sprinkled SSS moonshine sequins and added a single clear droplet in the center of my snowflake.

There you have it – 3 ways to rock this snowflake die. Hope you enjoy playing with these as much as I did.  :-)
