1 Trick 5 cards – Dry embossing with stencils

Hi guys, are you ready for another 1-trick-5-cards post? I know I am :)

1 Trick:

Today’s trick is to dry emboss with stencils instead of embossing folders. You do need to use a die cutting / embossing machine for this too. The sandwich will be

  • the platform
  • your stencil
  • paper on which to dry emboss
  • tan-embossing-mat for Spellbinders Platinum machines (or the not-stiff embossing mat for your particular die-cutting & embossing machine)
  • blue-embossing-plate for Spellbinders Platinum machines (or the stiff embossing plate for your particular die-cutting & embossing machine)

Run that through and you will have some gorgeous detailed dimension on your projects.

Here are the 6 cards I made using this technique today. (Please keep reading to get to the video near the end of this post):

Card 1 of 6:

This one uses the Simon Says Stamp Zig Zag stencil.

Card 2 of 6:

This one uses the Dreamy Nights Stencil from Hero Arts.

Card 3 of 6:

The beautiful diamonds on this one are made with Tim Holtz Shifters Mini Stencil Set 36.

Card 4 of 6:

Modern Chevron stencil from Echo park gives this card its beautiful background. I wasn’t able to find the exact one online, so in the Supplies List below, I have linked to another Echo Park stencil – Come Fly With Me – which is almost identical.

Card 5 of 6:

Look at those gorgeous, delicate details. This one is made with the Circular Lace stencil from Simon Says Stamp.

Card 6 of 6:

The Sketched Lines Stencil from Altenew is the secret behind this beautiful panel.

Here’s the video showing how I put together all these cards:

So, there you have it: 1 trick, 5 (+1) cards. Hope you give this trick a try. Do tag me on Social Media if you use something like this in your projects. I love seeing your creations :)
