Creating a stamped background – Spellbinders + Fun Stampers Journey Stamp of the Month – Jan 2020

Hi friends, today I have two different ideas for you to create stamped backgrounds. Both these cards use Spellbinders + Fun Stampers Journey Stamp of the Month for Jan 2020. This kit is full of fun stamp images that can be used for both cards as well as envelopes. For both of today’s cards, I am thinking of creating fun stamped envelopes too. Most likely, I will end up sharing it on Instagram (do catch me there, I’d love for you to say hi. My handle is @varadasharma.) Okay, let’s take a look at the cards now: Background Idea 1: …

Spellbinders | Large Die of the Month | Using small dies to make an impact

Hi friends, welcome to this crafty space. Today’s cards show how you can use any of the smaller dies you have on hand to make a big impact. The idea is to create clusters of smaller shapes and use them repeatedly. You can go for flower clusters, or  words or even numbers. You can make the die cuts colorful or opt for monochromatic ones. You can make these have different textures or bling or more. Let’s explore this idea in the two cards below, shall we? Card 1 For the first one, I used the flowers from Spellbinders Large Die …

Simon Says Stamp | You Are Loved release inspiration

Hi folks, although it is quite late in the night right now, I had to drop in with some inspiration using Fruit From The Heart stamp set. I got it in the mail only yesterday but could not wait to ink up the cute fruit images and accompanying punny sentiments. :-) For the first one, I die cut a white cardstock panel using Memory Box Wrapped Stitch die. Then I stamped the sentiments using Simon Says Stamp Black ink with the help of MISTI. On another piece of the same cardstock, I stamped the berries twice – once using Hot …

good vibes 4a

Hello Friends, ready for another card inspiration from the fabulous Good Vibes release from Simon Says Stamp? Today’s “Missing you” card is kind of a twist on the designs I shared on day 1 (travel card) and day 2 (thanks card) for this release and it is one of my favorite tricks for quick cards. Also check out a graduation card I created using this stamp set. As you can see by now, the Vacation Time stamp set from Simon Says Stamp is a collection of several sentiment stamps. For today’s card, I picked ‘Missing you’ related sentiments. I decided to …

Simon Says Stamp Good Vibes release inspiration 3

good vibes 3a

Hi Friends, one more card idea from the Good Vibes release from Simon Says Stamp. Today I used one of my favorite techniques to create this card and also tried something new too. I am still showcasing the same stamp set – Vacation Time – from this release. Although this set is focusing on vacation and travel related stuff, there are several different sentiments which can be used for other cards like I am doing here for a graduation card and like I did in this “Thanks” card and this “Travel” card. I love to create my own stamped and colored …

Happy Father’s Day card

fathers day card 1

Hi friends, today I have a masculine card to share with you for the upcoming Father’s day (June 17th). I used a new-to-me company’s stamp set – Kaisercraft’s Factory 42 clear stamp set – for this card. I also used a color combination which is unusual for me. I stepped out of my pink-teal-yellow-green colors to play with Simon Says Stamp Goldenlocks, Steel Blue and Slate. To begin, I started with a panel cut from white cardstock that was slightly less wide than my A2 cardbase. This is a ready-to-use note card that I had picked up in a pack …

Combining stamp sets to create a floral patterned paper

Hello friends, today I have multiple cards to share using a technique that I haven’t done in a while – creating a patterned paper using smaller images.   For today’s cards I combined several different stamp sets to create a floral pattern. I used Altenew Painted Flowers, Simon Says Stamp Friends of Life and Simon Says Stamp Cone Building (this is an older set and I think it is now discontinued). I also did a little planning and testing with several different inks before settling on the following inks Archival Black ink for the flower outlines and centers Simon Says …

One layer teacher appreciation card

Teacher Appreciation card

Hi friends, today I am sharing the second card I taught the girls in my younger one’s scout troop. This is for Teacher Appreciation. Schools in my county are in their last week for this year, so we wanted to make our teachers feel special. This stamp is by Clearly Besotted and has now been discontinued. But I will link to similar ones below. We simply stamped the apples in two colors – Lemon Twist and Watermelon inks from Simon Says Stamp. I also stamped the leaves on top using Key Lime ink (again from Simon Says Stamp). Finally I …

Hero Arts | Go Wild Birthday card

Hero Arts Go Wild Birthday

Hi friends, I have a fun birthday card to share today. This card idea is a good one to have on hand because (a) it allows you to stretch your winter / christmas stamps and (b) it can be easily changed up for a girl or a boy! So, let’s great straight to it: The steps to make this card are quite simple. I started by cutting out a 4.25 x 5 inch panel from Neenah Solar white cardstock so that it can cover my entire card front. I lined up the sentiment in my MISTI and stamped it using …

Simon Says Best Days – New Release – Card Inspiration 3

Hi friends, we are looking at different ways to use the Big Thanks die from Simon Says Stamp’s latest release “Best Days”. Today is day 3 of 3.  You can find the previous ideas here. For this card, I combined the main word die (not the outline die) from Big Thanks die set with Brush Stroke Messages stamp set to create a fun background. I used one of the stamps and repeatedly stamped in with each of the four Altenew Shades of Purple inks. In first round, stamped each image slightly further away from each other and then I stamped …
