Rolled Flowers using Felt with paper crafts

Hi crafty friends, we are at the finish line today – project 5 of 5 for using felt die cuts on paper projects. So far, we made critters (bunnies – here and here), we did a basket and we also did flowers. But we did mostly flat die cuts – single or double layers of felt. I did want to try making something more dimensional. So today, I went ahead and made rolled flowers. I started with die cutting the delicious colors from Benzie Design felt and used my trusted Surebonder detail glue gun to roll and secure these beautiful …

Mother’s Day Flower Basket Card using Spellbinders Large Die of the Month

Another Felt project today guys. I hope you all are ready. We are making a Mother’s Day flower basket card using Spellbinders Large Die of the Month. I started by using one of the cards whose card front I had dry embossed with Bright Days embossing folder from Spellbinders + Fun Stampers Journey. Next I made a white panel the same size as the card front by cutting one of the card kit cards into two. In the middle of this I cut out the whole basket. This cut out the outline as well as the bottom and top half …

Two cards using Foiled Basics by Yana Smakula

You guys, this collection by one of my favorite artists of all times – Yana Smakula – it is just so beautiful and dreamy! I am in love. That’s why I created, not one but two love cards using the beautiful foil plates in this collection. Card 1: I just wanted to combine the loose sketched look of the flowers from this collection with something really intricate and dainty. So I used the circular dies from two sets – Brilliante Rondelle and Vintage Treasures dies sets by Becca Feeken. I made a base with patterned paper circle which I ink …

1 Trick 5 cards – Dry embossing with stencils

Hi guys, are you ready for another 1-trick-5-cards post? I know I am :) 1 Trick: Today’s trick is to dry emboss with stencils instead of embossing folders. You do need to use a die cutting / embossing machine for this too. The sandwich will be the platform your stencil paper on which to dry emboss tan-embossing-mat for Spellbinders Platinum machines (or the not-stiff embossing mat for your particular die-cutting & embossing machine) blue-embossing-plate for Spellbinders Platinum machines (or the stiff embossing plate for your particular die-cutting & embossing machine) Run that through and you will have some gorgeous detailed …

A masculine-ish card for Valentine’s Day using Spellbinders Card Kit of the Month – Jan 2020

Hi friends, I love convertibles – I think they are cool (may be not always so-practical), but cool for sure. My older one loves them too, so this month’s die from Spellbinders card kit was oh so fun for us :) I also tried to make this card a bit masculine, but Valentine-themed: no bling, no pink-purple colors, but has hearts and balloons :D What do you think? For the background, I used Spellbinders “I Heart” embossing folder. I assembled the car and balloons just like I did the scooter / bike & balloons in this card:   Finally, I …

I will see if I can recreate it and upload some other time. But I couldn’t wait to share this card with you. I love the beautiful fox and the rich mahogany …

Spellbinders | Large Die of the Month – Nov 2019

Hi friends, have you checked out the Large Die of the Month for this month from Spellbinders, yet? These are just so adorable. You can actually make Santa and a girl / boy elf. And there is an add-on die that lets you make a reindeer. For today’s card, I made a girl elf and the card itself is a peek-through window card. :) When a die set lets you make a doll or something with several different colored pieces, I like to plan my colors. This helps me die cut several pieces of the same color with one pass …
