Ink squishing – when you don’t want to do detailed coloring

Today, I want to stand on top of a building that “my crafty friends are the best!”. My friends from Instagram – Subhashini and Chandhini – are amazing – they are so good at crafting. You should check out their feed – on Instagram they go by @crafty_sistahs. They won a giveaway from Unity Stamp company and because of the chaos with shipping asked them to deliver their prize here at my house. AND they let me use the stamps for crafting before I can take it to them when I visit India next time. What did I say? My …

Spellbinders | Small Die of the Month August 2019

Hi friends, ready to look at some inspiration for a paper backpack with cute things in it? Then you have come to the right place! For this one, I followed this video by Yana for Spellbinders channel to put things together. I love the purple Apple on the top. Because, why not?! I added several little details on things inside the backpack – with a double colored book cover and a gold pen and gold glasses. The sentiment on this card is inside the backpack – ‘Great Job!’. Finally I dry embossed my card front using Diamond Netting embossing folder, …

Spellbinders Amazing Paper Grace Kit

Hi friends, I have a card using Spellbinders Amazing Paper Grace kit for June 2019. I combined the gorgeous, intricate dies from this month’s kit with Shapeabilities Cinch and Go V Etched Dies from Vintage Treasure collection also designed by Becca Feeken. I started by die cutting the inner intricate designs using gold mirrored cardstock. On the edges I also used the edge dies. I set those aside and used on the edge dies with a deep purple cardstock to cut out a solid backing for the larger piece. I adhered the two larger pieces together and foam mounted the …

Spellbinders Small Die of the Month Kit

Hello my dear crafters, I am so in love with the Small Die of the month kit from Spellbinders this month. It is a kit with 3 different sets of layering dies – circle set (with 3 dies), hexagon set (with 3 dies) and a petal shaped set (with 4 dies). I used the hexagon set for my card today to create a card with multiple shakers. I started by using a rectangle panel of white cardstock which is slightly smaller than a standard A2 sized card. I positioned all the three hexagons, held them in place with washi tape …

Two more cards using Pinkfresh Studio Fancy Floral 2 die

Hi friends, did you like the idea of customizing die cuts created with cover dies? You can check out the earlier cards here. I have a couple more cards using the same die and same idea – this time I used a patterned paper as background for one card and watercolored background for second one. The one important change I did is to keep my die cut as contiguous as possible. I did not pick and choose flowers and leaves from different places as I did with the older cards. Card 1: I used another paper from Bazzill Basics – …

Simon Says Stamp Good Vibes release inspiration 3

good vibes 3a

Hi Friends, one more card idea from the Good Vibes release from Simon Says Stamp. Today I used one of my favorite techniques to create this card and also tried something new too. I am still showcasing the same stamp set – Vacation Time – from this release. Although this set is focusing on vacation and travel related stuff, there are several different sentiments which can be used for other cards like I am doing here for a graduation card and like I did in this “Thanks” card and this “Travel” card. I love to create my own stamped and colored …

You are a Star – Masculine card with galaxy background

Hi friends, today I want to share a quick masculine card that I made for one of our team members at work who just graduated. Hope you like it. I will keep this one really quick for today: For this one, I combined galaxy paper and star dies from Spellbinders card kit with Simon Says Stamp “Seeing Stars” stamp set and lots of stars die (for the littlest star). Oh and I also used the largest stitched rectangle die to cut the main galaxy panel. Once the rectangle itself was cut I also did some selective die cutting through the bottom …

Spellbinders Wow card

Hi friends, a simple and quick but layered card using a ribbon ephemera from Spellbinders Card kit and the Small die of the month kit. Just three steps for this card Take a patterned paper (this one is from Pebbles Heart of Home collection) and cut it to be slightly smaller than the card front. I cut it half way through – at an angle – using one of the borders that came in Small Die kit of the month. Using the same border die I cut it out of rose gold cardstock from my stash. Next I inlaid this rose …

Just Add H2O – Reverse watercolor

Reverse Watercoloring Featured

Hello friends! A very happy Holi to all of you!!  Today I have two colorful cards for you which are super simple to create. In both these cards I used the technique of reverse (water)coloring – the images themselves are left white with outlines either stamped or heat embossed and color washes are added around the images to highlight them. In both these cards, I started with the main watercolor panel by cutting it using SSS Stitched rectangle dies from Strathmore watercolor paper. For the smaller card, I had to do creating die cutting to get the panel exact size …
