#UseYourCraftStash – Background stamps – make them the star of the show!

Hi friends, we have done a lot of different fun things during this challenge. Today we are playing with background stamps. :) I often like to just go with just tone-on-tone or emboss resist or something more of a “background” thing. Today though I made two cards where the background is actually the start of the show. Key Ingredients: Simon Says Stamp Leaves and Berries background stamp Simon Says Stamp Ultra fine gold embossing powder Simon Says Stamp Ultra fine steel navy embossing powder Coloring pencils (I used the one from Simon Says Stamp’s March 2020 card kit) Martha Stewart …

#UseYourCraftStash – Make Multiple – Cards with only stamps & heat embossing

Hi guys, are you ready for the next idea and tip? Today’s tip:   When you are working on one type of card – heat embossing / foiling / fun fold – give yourself time to play a little. Give yourself time to understand the technique, grasp it, find out what works for you to make those kind of projects and get comfortable. Making one project today with a technique and then using that technique after days or weeks, will not build the same comfort level. So, I always recommend making multiple. Today’s idea is pretty simple – Heat Embossing. …

Table top wood sign using Spellbinders APG Dies April 2020

Hi everyone, there are some projects that you just can’t wait to share, right? Today’s project was just one of those projects for me. We are still trying to celebrate my husband’s birthday and making things to cheer him up every day. Unlike other years, where we would have a gala time with our friends for a day and be done, we are trying to make him feel special in different ways. So on his actual birthday, my girls and I baked him cupcakes and we all made pani-poori aka golgappe (a popular street food in India which he loves) …

You Are Loved – stamped and colored card

Hi guys, I am hoping you all are staying safe. Not panicking. Acting with hope, strength and grace. Yes, there is a lot of chaos and uncertainty right now in the world, but we crafters have a way to find and spread sunshine wherever we go. We have a way of making people feel that they belong, that they are not alone and that they are loved. Let’s use that superpower because this is the time when the world needs it most. For today’s card, I used a panel that was the same size as an A7 card front (5×7). …

Quick and easy hot foiled cards using Modern Essentials collection from Spellbinders

Hi guys, I hope you are having a fantastic Monday! Today’s card is such an inspired-by card. Recently, Debby from Lime Doodle Design shared a few cards with Kraft-Black and hints of white+gold. I am so completely smitten by those that I had to use that color combo and make it mine. And when I started playing with these delicate little dot ovals from the Modern Essentials collection from Spellbinders, that is what I had on my mind. Here is the result: Card 1: A clean, modern look. I started by trimming down a rectangle of Neenah Desert Storm cardstock …

Two cards using Foiled Basics by Yana Smakula

You guys, this collection by one of my favorite artists of all times – Yana Smakula – it is just so beautiful and dreamy! I am in love. That’s why I created, not one but two love cards using the beautiful foil plates in this collection. Card 1: I just wanted to combine the loose sketched look of the flowers from this collection with something really intricate and dainty. So I used the circular dies from two sets – Brilliante Rondelle and Vintage Treasures dies sets by Becca Feeken. I made a base with patterned paper circle which I ink …

3 more watercolored cards using Simon Says Stamp Stronger Together card kit

Namaste! Watercoloring is going strong in my neck of the woods. And lucky for me, the current Simon Says Stamp Stronger Together card kit has 3 pre-printed watercolor cards by the amazingly talented Suzy Plantamura. I used those to create these 3 cards. For all these, I used the watercolor pencils that came with the kit. Let’s look at each of them, shall we? Card 1: I used the gray, two yellows and two greens to color these daisies. Then I fussy cut them out using my Tim Holtz mini snips and Fiskars Fingertip Precision Knife. For the background, I …

Mini Accordion Album using journaling cards – from Spellbinders Card kit of the Month Feb 2020

Hi friends, I have one more quick and easy crafty project to share today. And just like my last post, this one also uses the super fun and colorful journaling cards from this month’s Spellbinders Card kit. Yes, it is a mini accordion album. I used the white cardstock from this month’s card kit and cut it into half on the longer side. I scored it every 3.5 inches, which left 0.5 inch at the end on both pieces. I scored these in accordion style and used the 0.5 inch part on one of the pieces to attach the two …
