#UseYourCraftStash – Make Multiple – Cards with only stamps & heat embossing

Hi guys, are you ready for the next idea and tip? Today’s tip:   When you are working on one type of card – heat embossing / foiling / fun fold – give yourself time to play a little. Give yourself time to understand the technique, grasp it, find out what works for you to make those kind of projects and get comfortable. Making one project today with a technique and then using that technique after days or weeks, will not build the same comfort level. So, I always recommend making multiple. Today’s idea is pretty simple – Heat Embossing. …

Hi guys, I am hoping you all are staying safe. Not panicking. Acting with hope, strength and grace. Yes, there is a lot of chaos and uncertainty right now in the world, but we crafters have a way to find and spread sunshine wherever we go. We have a way of making people feel that they belong, that they are not alone and that they are loved. Let’s use that superpower because this is the time when the world needs it most. For today’s card, I used a panel that was the same size as an A7 card front (5×7). …

Quick and easy hot foiled cards using Modern Essentials collection from Spellbinders

Hi guys, I hope you are having a fantastic Monday! Today’s card is such an inspired-by card. Recently, Debby from Lime Doodle Design shared a few cards with Kraft-Black and hints of white+gold. I am so completely smitten by those that I had to use that color combo and make it mine. And when I started playing with these delicate little dot ovals from the Modern Essentials collection from Spellbinders, that is what I had on my mind. Here is the result: Card 1: A clean, modern look. I started by trimming down a rectangle of Neenah Desert Storm cardstock …

Two cards using Foiled Basics by Yana Smakula

You guys, this collection by one of my favorite artists of all times – Yana Smakula – it is just so beautiful and dreamy! I am in love. That’s why I created, not one but two love cards using the beautiful foil plates in this collection. Card 1: I just wanted to combine the loose sketched look of the flowers from this collection with something really intricate and dainty. So I used the circular dies from two sets – Brilliante Rondelle and Vintage Treasures dies sets by Becca Feeken. I made a base with patterned paper circle which I ink …

Using Journaling cards for focal points on Cards – using Spellbinders Card kit Feb 2020

Hi guys, do you use journaling cards on your cards? This time the Spellbinders Card kit of the month has a pack of journaling cards and I decided to make them focal points on my cards :) These were pretty straightforward-ish to put together. I picked my cards, I picked the background patterned paper for it and embellishments (die cuts). Just four quick-ish cards. Some tips for making cards like these: Best to use a kit / pack / collection of papers, journals and die cuts. That way you have a theme for images as well as colors, already picked …

Modern card with stamped succulents using Spellbinders + Fun Stampers Journey Stamp of the Month Feb 2020

Hi friends, I am on a quest to try different colors, as well as techniques this year. So for the succulent / cactus stamp set from this month’s Spellbinders + Fun Stampers Journey Stamp of the Month kit, I decided to do something modern-looking. I know, it isn’t exactly my style, but as I said, I am into “new things” this year :) So, this is what I created: I created an inlaid colorful panel and stamped the images on and around these inlays. I die cut my front panel with the two largest rectangle dies from the Hemstitch rectangle …

Abstract scene setting with Spellbinders Large Die of the Month – Feb 2020

Hi friends, I have 3 cards to share with you today which are very much like the little children’s books with funky, abstract designs (think sparkly, square-ish clouds) and happy bright colors. What can I say? This month’s Spellbinders Large Die of the Month made me do it :) Ready? Here you go: Card 1: A wild flower or Ranunculus, I don’t really know, but I used the several round-ish shapes to create it. For the clouds I went with the square-ish shapes, the leaves the three pointy ones, the stalk, again the three long pointy ones  and the three …

LOVE Wood Sign – upcycled from Goodwill – Valentine home decor craft

Hi friends, in Sharma household last week was just a blur – both girls got the flu bug, and I wasn’t feeling my very best either and overall it was something I am hoping doesn’t happen again, at least not anytime soon at all :( But, we are all back to our regular life now, all recovered and of course, back to crafting :) So today I decided to upcycle a wood sign I had picked up long time ago from Goodwill. It had a very manly quote with a lion picture on top and was quite worse for the …

Hi guys, are you ready for another 1-trick-5-cards post? I know I am :) 1 Trick: Today’s trick is to dry emboss with stencils instead of embossing folders.
