Hi guys, have you hopped along with us yet? We are having a whole big monthly Instagram hop that encourages crafters to re-discover our crafty supplies. And that has been a goal of mine for this year for sure.
This month's theme was rainbow and technique was watercolor. I have seen so many watercolored rainbows that I did not think I could do any better. So, I decided to go with my trusted emboss-resist technique.
I gold heat embossed my rainbow and sentiment on Canson mixed media paper to start my project. Then I did wet-on-wet watercolor with 3-4 sample dots of Daniel Smith watercolors, let the colors blend by themselves to create rest of the colors and if there was a specific shade / color that it lacked, I helped it a bit. I had to do that only for the purple at bottom right corner and green (for some additional green) around the middle.
Then to add to the rainbow-ness, I went in with small flowers + Concord and 9th matching inks to create a floral spray from corner to corner. Lastly, I added individual pieces of chunky glitter at flower centers and mounted the panel on a card base.
