Playing Catch Up

Hey there, card enthusiasts and dear crafty friends.

I have been going through a bit of a rough patch lately in my head. And I realized, I have slacked on keeping this space up-to-date with my creations. I apologize.

So to fix my lapse, I am going to catch up and share cards here which I have shared on social media in the past few months. This here is the first installment. Hope you like it :-)

As you might know I participate in a few hops on Instagram. This card here was created for the 'Rediscovery hop', the premise of which is to rediscover your supplies and put them to new use. It's been one of my favorite hops.

These two cards were part of this hop in Sept 2024, the theme was Teacher, and Technique was Ink Smooshing.

I used some older products (keeping up with the theme!) and also because my own designed teacher/school themed stamp set decided to abscond on me!! The audacity!!! Anyways...

For both my cards, I did ink smooshing with #distressoxideinks - Worn Lipstick, Tumbled Glass, Stormy Sky and also a hint of regular #distressink in Seedless Preserves on #cansonmixedmedia paper. Also both sentiments were die cut from @teamspellbinders Smooth Lines Mix & Match sentiments set. The books and apple image is also from the same company’s older rubber stamp set Bookworm. The word ‘Teacher’ came from an older @clearlybesotted Teacher’s pet stamp set.

For the pink card, I die cut my panel with the second largest postage die from @teamspellbinders Nested Postage Labels & Tag set, used white sentiment and also white heat embossed my books + apple image and the word Teacher with @simonsaysstamp Fine Detail White embossing powder, before finishing it up with some iridesent white / clear sequins.

For the blue one, I used the largest stiched rectangle from the same @teamspellbinders Nested Postage Labels & Tag set, stamped my image and word in Archival Black ink and did a little bit of inlaid die cutting for ‘Thank you’ with black cardstock. To finish it, I used nuvo drops in Ebony Black color.

Until next time, happy crafting!
