Simon Says Stamp Beautiful Flowers + watercoloring with distress inks + stamping with colored marker

Hi friends, I have one more card to share with you that uses Simon Says Stamp Beautiful Flowers stamp set. I started out this design planning to do no-line watercoloring but somewhere along the way I ended up doing something different. I liked the result, so decided to share this idea with you all too :-)
I started by stamping the image on a watercolor panel with Antique Linen distress ink – this one is a very light color and I wanted to try no-line coloring and blend the lines with my other colors on top.
I squished some Festive Berries distress ink on some packaging material and using wet-on-wet technique started coloring. For the leaves, I added Bundled Sage distress ink and for yellow flowers, went with Fossilized Amber distress ink. The brushes I used are from ranger artist brush set.
I had left my stamp set still mounted in my MISTI. As I was finishing each image – each flower, each leaf – I started going over those areas and all the little detail lines with matching Zig real brush markers and stamping on the exact same location. I made use of partially stamped flowers and leaves on the MISTI grid to place my panel into exact same place because for watercoloring each of these I was taking this panel out of MISTI again and again.
For the pink flowers, I used Pink marker, for leaves Green and Light Green and for yellow ones I used Orange marker. Once everything was watercolored and stamped on top, I also added a light wash of distress ink Chipped Sapphire. Finally some iridescent confetti sequins on top and mounting this panel on a card panel finished this project.
For someone like me who isn’t an expert in watercoloring by any stretch of imagination, being able to add those little details using a stamp was a great way to achieve a different look. Also having MISTI was the biggest plus point for this technique – using this tool I was able to make sure the lines / details line up exactly as needed.
