Hey friends, I have two similar cards to share today – again using the same Diamond Pattern background stamp from Simon’s latest release Friendly Frolic. Let’s start.
Card 1
I started by creating a stitched rectangle panel and stamping an ombre pattern on this. The Diamond Pattern background stamp stamps five rows of pattern on this panel, so I used five different (but related colors). I used the Altenew Cherry Blossom ink cubes and stamped one on each line. For my fifth color I used Delicata Pink Shimmer ink and used this as the middle row. Just above this shiny row I stamped my sentiment “you are loved” using Black Archival ink. This sentiment is from SSS Brush Strokes Messages.
I had a few leftover flowers from my previous project using Simon’s Beautiful Flowers stamp set. I used one of the yellow ones and a few punched out leaves to create a focal point. In the center of the flower I added some chunky glitter with a blob of multi medium matte and sprinkled a few ombre pink sequins around my focal point to complete this panel.
I wanted to highlight a little more of the green leaves, so I mounted this panel on a green card base. This is a premade card base and has embossed polka dots on the front side.
I did something similar with my card #2, with a slight twist. See below.
Card 2
For this card’s ombre pattern, I used Hero Arts Tropical Waters ink cubes and combined it with SSS Surf Blue ink as my fifth color. Also, I used the tiny striped circle image from SSS Birthday Bits stamp set with Surf Blue ink to add additional details to the pattern. The open spaces in this pattern provide several different ways to enhance it further. My tiny circle stamp had some residue ink on it I think and my inkpad is mostly dry, so you see the color variations as you see. #happyAccident.
Rest of the things are just like the first card. I used leftover flower and some leftover leaves from previous project. Stamped a different sentiment from same SSS Brush Stroke Messages stamp set and adhered some sequins. Finally mounted it
A big shoutout to @rubznaz for all the sequins you see. These (and so many more goodies) are from one of the giveaways she had on Instagram which I was lucky to win. :-)
So there you have it – two more ways to use SSS Diamond Pattern background stamp from Simon’s latest Friendly Frolic release. Do check out the previous couple posts for more ideas.
