Hello friends, some fun die cutting technique today using the Shapeabilities Rosy Summer Flowers Etched Dies. This die has two parts – one outline die for the whole image (flower + leaves) and another one that cuts out the lines in middle of the design. I used both for this card.
To start with, I die cut the outline from a patterned paper from my stash. Laying this on a similar sized panel of Bristol watercolor card-stock I lightly traced through it using a pencil. This became my guide to lay down some distress inks – Picked Raspberry, Mustard Seed and Mowed Lawn. Once this panel was completely dry, I foam mounted the patterned paper panel matching the die cut opening.
Next I die cut black card-stock using the inside lines die, adhered it through the window, onto my watercolored panel using multi medium matte adhesive and added some shimmer using Wink of Stella – just on the center. For my sentiment, I added another patterned paper stripe that says ‘Thanks’, which I had fussy cut in a banner shape on one side. I skipped all sequins etc for this one, because the little black dots already look like confetti. At the end I added the completed panel onto a black card base.
That’s it. The two dies in this set itself made this card so beautiful that it didn’t take a lot of work at all. :-)
