Hi friends, Happy Independence Day to all my American friends! I salute all those who are actively engaged in preserving freedom and independence for their people around the world. So grateful for them!!
Today’s card is just so cute (if I may say so myself) because – it’s a cat card! Spellbinders Small Die of the Month for July 2019 is the besties die set – it has a cat and a dog and some accessories like the collar, food bowl and such for these pets. I used the cat die and combined it with Shapeabilities Let’s All Party! die set from the Happy collection by Sharyn Sowell.
For the background I used Tiffany Blue cardstock from Hero Arts with Bright Days embossing folder. I made my kitty white + brown, for the eyes I used tiny googly eyes and for collar I made it pink. I also added very light pink to her inner ears. I also made her a matching pink food bowl, and used the same brown to be the fish bone. For some added interest, I added a tree (from Let’s Party! set) and also the pink bird. This bird is also die cut from the same die and then I fussy cut out the leaves and kept only the bird.
On the grass I stamped ‘you are the best ever’ – this sentiment is from the ‘Words are not enough’ set. I cut out only the bottom half of a sentiment stamp. I don’t mind doing this, because I can always align and stamp them together if I need to. I used MISTI and archival black ink for this stamping. A sprinkling of some sequins finished this card.
