Varada Sharma Designs has a fun, nautical release this August. From coral reefs and shells to sea creatures and punny sentiments, you are sure to find a cute combo you have to have.
Today’s project features stenciling, foiling and colored pencil work.
Key Ingredients:
- Under The Sea (at VaradaSharma.com | at Etsy)
- Seas The Day (at VaradaSharma.com | at Etsy)
- You Are Precious (at VaradaSharma.com | at Etsy)
- Canson XL recycled Bristol paper
- Prismacolor pencils
- Distress ink in Tumbled Glass, Chipped Sapphire, and Cracked Pistachio
- Googly Eyes
- Blue faux watercolor card base
- Green foil
- Ric Rac die
I started by coloring the coral in bright pinks and purples to contrast the neutral greens of the tortoise.
After I colored, I used a wavy stencil to add some texture and bluish background to the water. I blended it with three colors of Distress Ink.
Then I ran just the sentiment through my Minc laminator with green foil to give the card some shine.
I finished the tortoise with some funny googly eyes because it made me laugh.
