Hi friends, continuing the series of playing with washi tape.
I have two cards to share today where we use the 0.5 cm wide washi tape to create an ombre effect and a color-blocked effect.
I made the blue card first – in literally 15ish minutes while getting the house ready for having friends over! And I think I did the steps right with this one. In my video I will talk through all that, and if you read the steps below these are what I will list (because they are easier) 🙂
Here is the video:
The steps:
- Take a piece of lightweight cardstock that is slightly larger than the panel shape you want to die cut.
- Plan your washi colors to cover the entire panel. You can also do the same with stripes of cardstock.
- Use the cutting mat as a guide and line washi tape or adhere color stripes on it as per your design.
- Run this panel through embossing folder – 3d or regular – either will do.
- Add the panel to the cardbase. You could also create a shaped cardbase with a die that has the same shape as your panel but is larger.
- Foam mount the panel, add sentiment and embellishments to finish.
Here are the card closeups:
Enjoy!
