Generational Stamping technique and showcasing Dancing Florals stamp set

Hi friends, thank you for all the love you showed to my release. I am truly honored!

Today we are going to take a look at the Dancing Florals stamp set from my latest release with RubberStamps.com. This is a set of 21 solid images – from small dots to large flowers and dainty leaves – you can mix and match these to create a variety of different cards.

Today I am going to show you two identical cards that use this stamp set for a popular technique done with solid stamps – generational stamping. Don’t let the name intimidate you, the idea is quite simple – you ink + stamp the image and then stamp again without re-inking. The second-generation image is obviously lighter in color and provides beautiful color variation. It’s also a great way to get more out of your colors.

You must already be familiar with how stamp-positioning tools help to increase the intensity of a certain color by stamping it over and over again. Consider today’s cards as examples of the opposite – reducing the intensity by second (or even third) generation stamping.

On both these cards I have used a half sheet of 12×12 scrapbook paper in the spirit of #usewhatyouhave 🙂 I realized I have a lot of pretty 12×12 papers and to make sure I use them up, I ordered myself a pack of 6×6 card envelopes from Amazon. Now I am using these half sheets and making square 6×6 cards out of these papers.

For all my stamping today I have used Concord & 9Th ink cubes. The pink one has Sorbet-Honeysuckle-Parsley and the blue one has Oceanside-Parsley. The black ink for both sentiments is Maker Forte’s Eclipse Black.

Update: I did manage to find the footage I recorded while making the pink card and have posted the video to YouTube. Do check it out here:
