Each month I participate in a couple of Instagram hops. One of them is the Rediscovery hop – the premise of this hop to find the treasures hidden, instead of buying new supplies. This month the theme was Birthday and Technique was fun-fold cards and here’s my take on it.

My card uses patterned papers I have been hoarding 😜 from @simplestories_ and these came in an older card kit from @simonsaysstamp . It has a locking mechanism on top and a gift card holder on the inside.

This was inspired from one the cards of @stampin_heidi that caught my eye on Pinterest. I simplified the making of it so that I don’t have to remember any measurements. Here’s the video:

I also ended up using the same design to make a thank-you card for one of my daughter’s teachers who made a huge difference in her thinking about herself. I am very grateful to her!

So there you have it – fun fold card idea with a locking mechanism and a gift card holder. Do give it a try, it is much easier than you think!
