Hi friends, I found some cute washi tapes on Amazon and before I knew it they were in my cart and delivered to my home! After some deliberation, I have decided to “use before buy” and challenged myself to use these washi tapes as much as I can. I am also wanting to do the same thing with the rest of my craft supplies. Unless it is a new tool or a significantly different design that I cannot recreate with what I have, I will not buy it. This is also challenging me to think about multiple ways to use my supplies. Not sure how long my resolve will hold but let’s see 🙂
So in today’s project, I implemented the first idea using a wide washi tape – using it to ground my design.
I also made a quick video:
If you prefer written steps:
- Dry emboss the card front with a 3D embossing folder.
- Create a base layer on the bottom half of the card front with washi tape. Cut across the width if needed. Add another slim washi as a divider between the washi design and the card base.
- Put the flowers together and use chipboard stickers for sentiments.
- Assemble the design and add gems to finish off.
Enjoy!
