Hi friends, I am continuing with the rediscovery of supplies I already have with this month’s Instagram Hop – the theme this time is Get Well and technique is embossing.

I considered so many ideas

1. Heat embossing
2. Dry embossing (with normal embossing folders)
3. Dry embossing (with 3d embossing folders)
4. Dry embossing (with embossing plates, like this one)
5. Adding color with embossing folders
6. Adding heat embossing with embossing folders (I’d definitely like to try this out in a future card)
7. Partial dry embossing
8. Double embossing (like this card)
9. Cutting out embossed motifs and using them as focal points

But I was running short on time, so I created 2 cards but with only first 3 ideas.

Card 1 using Embossing technique for Get Well theme

For my first card:

• I made a top folding shaped card using the largest die from an older Spellbinders die set – Labels 54. I also die cut a separate panel using the same die.
• I embossed this panel with a normal embossing folder Fan Motif from Spellbinders.
• For my focal point, I decided to go with old Sizzix thinlits Wildflowers die and die cut two of the stems from dark green cardstock from my stash.
• I heat embossed my sentiment (a stamp from Simon Says Stamp Sketched Florals stamp set and die cut it using the second smallest die from Labels 54 set.
• Lastly I foam mounted my sentiment and adhered the rest with liquid glue. Just a couple of Metallic Gold gems finished this card.

Card 2 using Embossing technique for Get Well theme

For my second card:

• I made a arch shaped side folding card with black cardbase. I used Scrapbook.com Nested Arches die set for this. I also used the second largest die from same set to create a white panel.
• I dry embossed the white panel with Floral Archway 3d embossing folder from Spellbinders.
• This time I heat embossed the same sentiment on a piece of vellum and cut it out as a simple strip using my trimmer.
• I die cut a gold paper slightly larger than this strip by using one of the plain rectangle dies from Flowering Slimline die set from Spellbinders. I wrapped my vellum around this gold strip and then foam mounted it on the white arched panel. I used the debossed side of this panel for my card.
• Lastly? Gems! Yes, Gold Metallic.
