Hi friends, hope all of you are doing great! I am sorry about my long and unexplained absence from here. Health and general busy-ness in Sharma household kept me away. But today I am back with a fun popup Halloween card. This one is my first ever Halloween card and I also taught a class at our local enrichment center where we made this card. So it is kinda special. 🙂

Here are the steps I took to make the popup card:

Step 1: Die Cutting

1. Using the Spellbinders Shapeabilities Pop Up Box die, I cut out 4 of the base panels using black cardstock and three little strips.
2. I also cut out 3 more base panels using blue card stock for creating night sky on all sides of the box.
3. Lastly, I die cut the spooky images
4. Tree, spiderweb, spider and bats from black cardstock using Spellbinders Spooky Halloween Die set which came in their monthly die kit.
5. Tombstone and mouse from black cardstock using Recollections RIP stamp and die set.
6. A moon from white cardstock using a small circle dies from Infinity nested circle dies by Hero Arts.

Step 2: I prepped my blue panels

1. One of the blue panels I prepped for the back. This one I did not score in the middle. I only ink blended on this one with Black Soot distress ink to create a night sky. I also ink blended a tiniest bit of Fossilized Amber distress ink along the edges on my moon and adhered it to the night sky.
2. I used the other two blue panels to cut out 3 squares for the three side flaps. In our class, we used the 4th cut out piece for the front bottom panel, but for my sample, I skipped this step and left the front bottom panel black. On all of my blue pieces, I ink blended with Black Soot distress ink to create a night sky. I also stamped images like the spiderweb, spider and a sentiment. I used two Halloween sets from Recollections for all these stamped images – Happy Halloween and RIP set.

Step 3: Assembled everything

1. The base panel die creates score lines which makes it easy to assemble the popup box. I scored along all of these lines, attached back blue panel on one and adhered each panel to the next one to complete the box.
2. Next I attached the side blue panels and three black strips in the middle.
3. Lastly I arrange my die cut pieces on the three black strips as well as side panels and called my card done!
