Hi everyone, it’s been quiet here for the past week, but we were hanging out on Instagram. When I am not here, that’s where you can find me and also know what the goings-on in my life – our little vegetable garden, our adorable fur ball Princess Kiara – all make regular appearances there. I’d love for you to hang out with me. 🙂
Okay, let’s go over to today’s card. Shall we? I decided to combine the Spellbinders Small Die of the Month for August 2021 with my digital stamps. I had these images lying around my table waiting to be colored and used. When I made my previous project with them, I had this set left over. The dies this month from SDOM reminded me of a garden lattice and that’s how I used them. To give an appearance of a wall against which the lattice is propped up, I used the Blistered embossing folder (also from Spellbinders) because it gives the feel of an old, cement wall. Here’s the final result:
Key Ingredients:
- Digital Stamps Dear Darling (at VaradaSharma.com | at Etsy)
- Grateful to You 4×8 stamp set (at Maker Forte)
- Spellbinders Small Die of the Month Membership (at Spellbinders)
Steps:
- Use MS PowerPoint to size and print images. Fussy cut and color using your favorite medium. I used inktense pencils for these.
- Using a black glittery cardstock, cut out the hexagonal lattice using dies from Spellbinders SDOM For August 2021.
- Trim a panel to be 5.5″ x 4.25″ from blue-gray cardstock. I used one from my stash. Dry emboss it using the Blistered embossing folder and ink edges using Stormy Sky Distress Oxide ink.
- Using a small scrape of paper, create a banner. Add a little bit of color using the same colors of inktense pencils and let it dry completely. Stamp the sentiment “To my friend” using Eclipse Black ink from Maker Forte.
- Assemble the card front, mount it on a card base and add sequins to finish it off. 🙂
