Hey everyone, Varada here!
I’m back today with another 4×6 card project. Can you believe it if I said I only freshly die cut & stamped the banner on top left and the green and yellow flowers? Rest everything came from my leftovers 🙂
Most of my die cut leftovers were white – the large flower, the white leaves and the vellum leaves. I wanted a dramatic, high-contrast look, so I gave them a deeply textured dark grey cardstock as background (card base). To give it a bit more depth, I did a little ink blending with black ink right around the edges to frame everything beautifully. (Later on, I actually thought about using a stencil with that black ink—maybe I’ll save that idea for the next card!).
Here is how the rest of the elements came together:
The sentiment banner
The main banner die is from Altenew, which I topped with a delicate floral stamp from Recollections and a sentiment from an older Spellbinders card kit.
The main florals
The gorgeous white focal flower, the pops of yellow, and the vibrant green leaves are all from various Altenew die sets.
The soft accents
The muted, white leaf clusters tucked into the background are from an older Memory Box Luxe Peony die.
Outside/Inside Sentiments
I love a card that continues the story from the front to the inside. For this one, the banner on the front reads, “To a beautiful person.” When you open it up, the inside sentiment completes the thought: “I hope your day is filled with all the things that matter most.” It’s simple, elegant, and perfect for bringing a smile to someone’s face. The inside sentiment is from another older Spellbinders card kit.
What do you think? What do you like most about this card? What would you change? Let me know 🙂
Until next time, enjoy!
