Altenew – Build-a-flower Larkspur – Make it dimensional

Hi friends, today I have one more card using the Larkspur flower stamp-die set. In this card I fussy cut the layers of stamped petals to make this flower dimensional. Also, this card is not using any bling :-D (which is very very rare, if you know me), but there is already so much going on in this project that I skipped bling – embellishments / sequins etc completely. For this card, I started by stamping several flowers and leaves using Altenew Cherry Blossoms and Tropical Forest ink cube sets. For this card, I used 2 leaves and 3 flowers. …

Altenew – Build-a-flower Larkspur – Thank you card

Hi friends, I recently learnt that the flower for the month of July is Larkspur – part of the buttercup / ranunculus family. Being a July baby, I went ahead and got it :-D This week I will share some card ideas using this set and some other beautiful Altenew floral set. So, why wait? Let’s get this party started! I used Summer Afternoon mini ink cubes with my MISTI and stamped the outline layer, and the one which stamps only the back petals. Before I made this card, I had practice stamped one of the flowers with pink outline …

Spellbinders | Tags using Jul 2018 card kit of the month

Hi friends, I have several fun tags I made by simply using the ephemera that came in Spellbinders card kit of the month for Jul 2018. No words today, only pictures. Ask me any questions if you don’t understand how I created one of these. :-)       Enjoy! ~Varada

Spellbinders | Card kit of the month | Using ephemera to create cards

Hello friends, after playing with Simon Says Stamp Beautiful Flowers stamp set for quite some time, I think I am ready to play some ephemera and die cutting now. So in the next few cards you will see me doing that ;-) Today I have two simple cards both mostly using ephemera and the beautiful pieces that come in Spellbinders Card kits. I have combined supplies from several different card kits to make these two cards. Card 1: For the first one, I created a black hemstitched rectangle using dies from Spellbinders and black cardstock from my stash. On top …

Altenew Build-a-flower Rose | Stretching inks with color layering stamp sets

Hi friends, I have finally managed to get myself the Altenew Build-a-flower Rose stamp set. I am so happy to share a card using this one today. Unlike most other layering stamp sets which have 3 or 4 layers, this one has 6 layers! And that’s what helps build all the depth on this gorgeous flower. I started by using Neenah white cardstock and stamping several of these flowers. I did have to practice 3-4 times before I got it to line up exactly as I wanted, but the picture guide on the back of the stamp set helped. I …

Combining SSS More Spring Flowers with Spellbinders Frames

Two cards today, friends :-) Same technique, just different layout and images. Ready? I started by stamping and heat embossing several different flowers and leaves from Simon Says Stamp More Spring Flowers stamp set on watercolor cardstock. I used Simon’s Fine Gold embossing powder for this. Then I loosely watercolored all the images using Gansai Tambi watercolors. After everything was dry, I cut it out using coordinating dies. I made two clusters of these flowers and wanted to anchor it on something. That is when I thought of Spellbinders Gilded Tags and Frames die set. This set came in Spellbinders’ …

Spellbinders and Hero Arts | Make a wish with a Cupcake

Make a wish with cupcake

Hello friends, I have a fun card to share with you that combines dies from Spellbinders with stamps from Hero Arts March card kit. To start this project, I lined up all the dies for the cupcake + candle on card front and stamped my sentiment. After getting dry embossed I would not get a clean impression, so I did the stamping before doing anything else. I struggled a little bit with making the card front dry embossed on this one. I was trying to use the Echo Park Modern Chevron stencil to dry emboss, but somehow I could not …

Spellbinders | Wow

Spellbinders Wow card

Hi friends, a simple and quick but layered card using a ribbon ephemera from Spellbinders Card kit and the Small die of the month kit. Just three steps for this card Take a patterned paper (this one is from Pebbles Heart of Home collection) and cut it to be slightly smaller than the card front. I cut it half way through – at an angle – using one of the borders that came in Small Die kit of the month. Using the same border die I cut it out of rose gold cardstock from my stash. Next I inlaid this rose …

Spellbinders | From the earth air water collection by Stephanie Low

Spellbinders | Hey There

Hello friends, I have a fun card for you today. I did some creative die cutting for this and also used leftover die cut piece for this card. I started by stamping the large floral stamp on a white cardstock using black archival ink. This image is from Feather stamp and die set from the Earth, Air, Water collection by Stephanie Low. I did the stamping at an angle and then also partially die cut only one side. I also trimmed the excess part on the sides and made it an even angled edge. Next I colored the flowers and …

Spellbinders | Botanical Bliss Label 54 + Shapeabilities Floral Berry Accents

Spellbinders Labels 54

Hi friends, today’s card is a little on the vintage/royal-type, unlike my most other cards which are kinda more simple. But I really love how this one turned out, so I had to share it with you :-) I combined two different die sets from Spellbinders to create this card. Using Botanical Bliss Labels 54 decorative element I die cut the bottom most layer from a purple foiled cardstock. I used the middle rectangle die to die cut a rectangle using white cardstock. This one is slightly textured and came in the Feb 2018 card kit from Spellbinders. Using the …

Layering Paper Shapes – Be-You-ti-ful

Layering Paper Shapes - Be-You-Tiful

Hi friends, I have another card showing some ideas for layering paper shapes. I combined goodies from Spellbinders card kit and Altenew stamps for this card. The leaf die cut that you see here has been with me for several months now. I had stamped and die cut it from Altenew Remember This stamp & die set for some other project but decided not to use it there. Had saved it until now just like that. When I saw the flower image from Spellbinders card kit, I thought these two go together perfectly. When I pop up a few images …

Spellbinders | Expect great things card {and a video}

Expect Great Things - 1

Hi friends, I have a easy to put together but beautiful card for you and also a video. So, let’s dive right in. This card looks kinda involved, but it is really simple to put together. I die cut a single border using gold mirrored cardstock. This is one of the four border dies that came in Spellbinders Small Border Dies. {Don’t tell the other dies, but this particular one is my favorite. Shh..} I also used the leftover piece from gold mirrored cardstock and adhered that one at the top for additional interest. Rest was only about making the …

Layering Paper Shapes – So Awesome

Layering Paper Shapes - So Awesome

Hi friends and welcome to another card post. Today I have a fun and easy card to share with you that uses only minimal stamping (and that too is optional) – one of our paper shapes is doubling up as a sentiment. All the pieces for this card including the banner and the cardbase itself came in Spellbinders Keep Life Simple card kit for Sep 2017. All I did was created clusters of the shapes and adhered them to card base using some liquid glue and some foam adhesive. The only stamping I did was the tiny little hearts you …

Layering Paper Shapes – LOVE

Hello peeps, I have a fun paper shapes layering card for you today. I love how this turned out – the colors, texture and dimension – I love it all! For this card, I really went all out with creating a shape cluster. To start, I picked the circle ‘love’ ephemera and the long ticket kinda-thingie (ephemera?!) from Spellbinders’ December 2017 card kit Frosted Lilac (It is still available, so feel free to grab it!) Next I picked purple paper from the same kit and using the flower die from Butterfly Flutter die set, I cut out a flower. I used …

Simon Says Best Days – New Release – Card Inspiration 1

Hello crafty friends, I am here with a beautiful card using some goodies from the latest Simon Says Stamp release – “Best Days”. Today is day 1 of 3. I have 2 more days of inspiration coming your way, so keep watching this space :-) A huge shout out to SSS for sending me the Big Thanks die set to play with. This is a set of two dies – one ‘Thanks’ word and another outline die for the same. I used these to create a focal point for my card which also doubles up as the sentiment. By cutting …
