Bunny Birthday Wishes – using Spellbinders Large Die of the Month March 2020

Hi guys, I hope your week is going good so far and that you are ready for another card inspiration :) Last month I tried incorporating Felt in my paper crafting – card making projects and loved the outcome. Encouraged by that, I decided to dive in and make more of those. And this month’s Spellbinders Die Clubs were perfect for these cards, so it was definitely something the universe wanted me to go for {at least that’s what I told myself!}.

For today’s card, I made a felt bunny (yes, blush pink!) and set up a little scene around her where she has collected some cute little wild flowers and is giving that as a birthday present.

I started by die cutting my bunny using Blush color felt and her tail etc using Coral color felt. I added a tinny-minny little piece of coral felt to her nose and adhered her coral tail. I removed the blush eyes and layered the underside of her face with black paper to give her eyes. I also attached coral pieces for inside of her ears.

Tip: When cutting felt, it’s a good idea to use a metal shim. I will link to the one I use down below. This helps cut it precisely.

For all the die cut flowers and leaves, I used used regular colored cardstock (linked below). In fact I cut a whole bunch of them with different colors and used them for several projects (coming soon…).

For creating my little scene, I ink blended using Bundled Sage distress ink a little area on the bottom right corner and added tiny grass and things using My Favorite Things SY Scene Builder stamp set (linked below). I used Simon Says Stamp Green Apple ink for the stamping. Next I placed my bunny where I wanted her to be and using MISTI stamped my sentiment (from SY Sending Sweet Celebration Wishes, linked below).

Lastly, I adhered my bunny in place and adhered the flowers + leaves in her hand. And just because I could not leave her alone, I gave her a cute little flower pin on one of her ears. Well, us girls do need pretty hair accessories, don’t you think? :)

So, there you have it. Another card with a little bit of felt just for that extra feel, texture and cuteness. Don’t forget to let me know in the comments below how you like it.
