Quick and easy hot foiled cards using Modern Essentials collection from Spellbinders

Hi guys, I hope you are having a fantastic Monday! Today’s card is such an inspired-by card. Recently, Debby from Lime Doodle Design shared a few cards with Kraft-Black and hints of white+gold. I am so completely smitten by those that I had to use that color combo and make it mine. And when I started playing with these delicate little dot ovals from the Modern Essentials collection from Spellbinders, that is what I had on my mind.

Here is the result:

Card 1:

A clean, modern look. I started by trimming down a rectangle of Neenah Desert Storm cardstock to be smaller than my 5×7 card. On this, I adhered three ovals like you see here using a washi tape (any low-tack tape would do). I hot foiled it with the Champagne foil (my favorite gold foil).

Next steps were really easy peasy. I used MISTI to stamp my floral cluster from Spellbinders Feather stamp-and-die set (linked below). I used Simon Says Stamp black ink and stamped it twice. I also stamped the sentiment from Simon Says Stamp Look for the Rainbows stamp set. For tiny little embellishments, I added a twine bow at the top and a fluttering butterfly towards the bottom.

And just because all this felt too simple, I went around the kraft frame with my gold paint pen. Just to accentuate the edges. And lastly foam mounted it on my cardbase.

Card 2:

To change things up, I went with a little more artistic look with the next one (hint: added splatters :D)

Almost identical steps and technique – except on this one, I did leave the slight overfoiling be and added lots of splatters with white gesso, onyx liquid pearls and gold dust stickels. Also, I used one die and another glimmer plate when foiling the ovals – yes, you can use dies to foil on the glimmer hot foil system!!!

Love how the delicate dots add so much beautiful details to these cards. As usual, I have linked to all supplies below. In case you have any questions, don’t hesitate to comment below.

Oh and in case you are wondering, here’s the link to Debby’s post. Go, show her some love. I am sure you will love her swoon-worthy creations.
