Hi guys, after I posted on Instagram my flip card using Whimsical and Wild collection by Jane Davenport from Spellbinders, I promised to show a quick how-to, so this post is about that. And in the process I have 2 more cards 🙂
Card 1:
Card 2:
Key Ingredients:
- Old My Favorite Things Stitched Hearts die set
- My Favorite Things Sending Sweet Celebration Wishes Clear Stamps
- Derwent Inktense Pencils
- Various colors of Gina K inks
Steps:
- Flip mechanism:
- Cut two card bases A2 sized.
- First card:
- Line up the die and tape it in place.
- Draw a very faint pencil line through the middle of the die
- Place the top cutting plate from the outer, open side of the card front, till it covers only the half portion of the die, only up to the pencil line
- Run it through the die cutting machine to do partial die cutting
- Second card:
- Figure out where to put the pencil line by folding the card front backwards till it makes 5.5 inches wide
- Pinch the top and bottom part and mark a pencil line through these pinched marks
- Tape the die in place keeping the middle of the die line up through the pencil line
- Place the top cutting plate from the outer, open side of the card front, till it covers only the half portion of the die, only up to the pencil line
- Run it through the die cutting machine to do partial die cutting
- Cut two of each hearts from watercolor paper, stamp and color these images
- Adhere them on the partial cut out heart and also add more stamping + some embellishments on the flipping side of the card.
Here is the how-to video followed by some close ups of the colored images.
