Quick Thanksgiving card using Spellbinders JUL20 SB Fall/Halloween

Hi friends, have you commented on our previous blog post yet? It’s a blog hop + giveaway, so don’t miss out! :-)

If you have been following me for some time now, you will definitely know this about me – Fall is my favorite season and Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. No, not because of food – I am a vegetarian (so I prefer my Turkeys to be alive and well!) and I am not-a-foodie really, so this holiday is not about food for me. I love it because my family and I take the time in November to say ‘thank you’ to as many people as we can. I make the most number of cards this time of the year and send most number of cards this time of the year. So, if there is an easy but elegant way to create (and possible mass produce) cards, I am all for it.

Today’s card fits this bill perfectly. The idea is truly simple and straightforward. Use fall themed patterned paper (#UseYourCraftyStash!) and these gorgeous glimmer plates from Spellbinders to whip up some quick but beautiful cards.

Key Ingredients:

  1. Spellbinders Stylish Script Thankful Glimmer Hot Foil Plate from Fall & Halloween 2020 collection
  2. Spellbinders Autumn Leaf Border Glimmer Hot Foil Plate from Fall & Halloween 2020 collection
  3. Spellbinder Snowflake Splendor Etched Dies Christmas Cascade Collection by Becca Feeken
  4. Spellbinders Glimmer Hot Foil Roll – Polished Brass

Steps:

  1. Trim a patterned paper panel to be about 3″ x 5.5″. This will be slightly smaller than width but will cover entire length of a portrait A2 card. I also trimmed a thin stripe with leftover piece of the same paper, but turned it the other side and adhered as a little border.
  2. Foil using the Polished Brass (gold )hot foil and Autumn Leaf Border Glimmer Hot Foil Plate.
  3. Foil the sentiment from Stylish Script Thankful Glimmer Hot Foil Plate onto a contrasting patterned paper using same color of foil. Keeping the foiling same ties this design together and makes it look cohesive.
  4. Die cut the foiled sentiment. I used the hexagon dies from Snowflake Splendor die set. I lined up two outermost hexagons and cut them out. Then I fussy cut out the outer edges to keep only the inner solid part.
  5. Assemble the card using foam tape, sprinkle gold jewels and secure them using multi medium matte.
  6. Enjoy!
