Fun with florals – Oct 2020 Challenge Inspiration 3

Hello everyone!

Please welcome the amazingly talented Jyoti from @cardsncraftsnyc. The card she made for our “Fun with Florals” digi challenge is just so spectacular that I would not want to keep you from it with a lot of talk here. So, I will let Jyoti take it away from here :-)

Jyoti here today sharing my card with you all.  I am a cardmaker, paper crafter and I like to call myself a self taught artist. In 2013, when I came across a video on You Tube where a watercolor piece was turned onto a handmade greeting card. That’s when my card making journey began and there was no turning back ever since.

My card today is a part of the Monthly Challenge Varada Sharma has hosted on her blog. This month’s theme is Fun with Flowers. I am featuring two of Varada’s digital stamps on my post today. One is “Blushing Blooms” and the other is “Awesome Blossom

Including these digital stamps I have used the following supplies to create my card today.

Key Ingredients:

  • Wow gold embossing powder
  • Versamark embossing ink
  • Heat gun to heat set the embossing
  • Mixed media paper to print the images
  • Karin markers
  • Zig clean color brush pen
  • One 3and a quarter by 4 and a half inches piece of Neenah solar white 110 lb panel
  • One top folding card base made out of Accent opaque 110 lb cardstock.
  • Few different tools like paper trimmer glue and foam tapes etc.

Steps:

  1. First I printed the flowers from Blushing Blooms stamp set and leaves from the Awesome blossom stamp set on mixed media paper and watercolored them.
  2. Then I swiped some versa mark ink on the Neenah card panel starting from the top lifting up through the middle of the panel to create an ombre effect.
  3. Then added wow gold embossing power and heat set it.
  4. I then added that panel on the card base using foam tape. And arranged the flowers some on the panel directly using liquid glue and some using foam tape for more dimension.
  5. The sentiment is from a stamp set by The Ton Stamps which says just because is heat embossed with white embossing powder on a black card stock strip.

This finishes my card. I hope you have enjoyed this easy background card and get inspired to create something similar.

I have more details on my blog post at www.Cardsncraftsnyc.com

Thanks!

~Jyoti
