Hello, crafty friends!

Today, I am so excited to share a shaped card project that is all about shopping your own craft room! It’s been a while since I created a shaped card, and I wanted to combine some intentional geometric design with a little bit of “craft room archaeology.” I dug into my stash and found a beautiful dimensional flower I’ve been holding onto for maybe a decade—originally meant for a home decor project! Pair that with some gorgeous arched dies and a clever colored pencil technique, and you get this beautifully balanced “Thank You” card.

Step 1: The Arched Base To step away from the traditional rectangle, I used the Make a Wish Arch Labels from @teamspellbinders. The nested arch shapes instantly provide a soft, elegant frame, bringing a natural visual balance and giving our focal elements a grounded place to rest without feeling visually heavy.

Step 2: The Stash-Busted Floral I anchored the bottom right corner with that beautiful, large dimensional flower from my stash. Mixing a massive, highly textured 10-year-old bloom against the crisp, clean lines of the Spellbinders arch creates the perfect texturing contrast!

Step 3: Dimensional Foliage Drama To frame the flower and break up the rigid geometry of the arches, I cut some gorgeous greenery using the @memoryboxco Wild Leaves set. Here is a fun design secret: to give these leaves movement and drama, I went over all the die-cut creases with colored pencils! It adds incredible shading and realistic dimension with minimal effort.

Step 4: The Sentiment I finished the card with a greeting from a classic @teamspellbinders set—the September 2021 Small Die of the Month (Layered Mix & Match Sentiments). It tucks perfectly beside the floral arrangement to complete the visual triangle.
