Hi everyone! Hope you are having a good week. And, we are here to make it more better – with Instagram hop and prizes to be won celebrating our latest release ‘Flower Shoppe’ for September 2021 🙂
If you don’t follow me on Instagram, please do so here. I would love to welcome you in our little tribe. We do share lots more inspiration (and entertainment) over there, than we do here on the blog alone. It’s a fun place to be and yes, every month we have giveaways too 🙂
I am loving the July 2021 Small Die of the Month from Spellbinders and I used it again this time to create one more shaped mini slimline card 🙂 {and I have planned one more card for this release using the same die. I think I might have to put this die away so I can pay attention to other dies before they get jealous…}
Key Ingredients:
- You Are Beautiful stamp set (on VaradaSharma.com | on Etsy.com)
- Spellbinders Small Die of the Month – July 2021
- Gansai Tambi watercolors
- Derwent Inktense pencils
Steps:
- Using PowerPoint plan, size and print image on Canson watercolor paper.
- Cut it out. I used my Brother Scan and Cut machine but fussy cutting works equally well.
- Die cut a black panel using the largest two dies from Spellbinders July 2021 SDOM.
- Arrange the fussy cut image on this panel and die cut it so that it gets the dotted outline exactly where you need it.
- Color with Gansai Tambi watercolor and add shading with Derwent Inktense pencils. I also added highlights with a gold paint pen.
- Adhere the image on the top black panel. Color and tuck the leftover pieces of leaves around this image.
- Create shaped cardbase with just the outer die from same die set with black cardstock.
- Attach the top most panel and embellish with gold gems.
I left sentiment out of this. I plan to create several stripes of sentiments some day and keep them handy to use as needed. But for right now this project will be sentiment free.
Supplies List:
For your convenience, I am sharing links to the supplies I’ve used for these cards – click on the picture or link to go directly to the product. Wherever available, I have used affiliate links, which means when you make a purchase, I receive a small commission (at no extra cost to you) which I use to run this blog. I truly appreciate your support!
Hugs!
