A spring themed shadow box using Spellbinders Small Die of the Month March 2020

Welcome back, dear friends! Today is project number 4 in a series of 5 projects where I am experimenting with using die cut felt on paper crafts. And just for giggles, I wanted to include at least one home decor project in addition to all the cards. {You can check out previous projects here, here and here.}

Today, I made more bunnies – all spring colored ones for an adorable shadow box:

Lots of different things going on with this one, so I am going to explain in bullet points {because helps me organize my thoughts :) }.

  1. I started by measuring a white cardstock to be exact same size as the inside of a shadow box. I used the photo that usually comes with it, because that one is always the perfect size to this particular shadow box.
  2. I used a scratch (used) paper to draw some clouds and cut them out. I used this as my stencil and blended Island Blue ink from Simon Says Stamp to create the sky.
  3. Next I die cut all my bunnies and added some black cardstock behind the eyes and nose. I also die cut the grass and leaves. Don’t worry, the actual dies are all listed below.
  4. I wanted a place to put my sentiment so I used the leftover piece of white cardstock, and used MISTI + Hero Arts Brown ink + Spellbinders Happy Sentiments stamp set to put “Happy Everything” on it. I also added a thin strip of Neenah Desert Storm cardstock at the top. To give it a wall / cement like texture, I used the Blistered embossing folder from Spellbinders.
  5. Finally I assembled everything using some foam tape and some multi medium matte.

Hope you like it and hope this make you HAPPY :)
