Simon Says Stamp | September 2019 card kit

Hello crafters, hope you are having an amazing day. Today I have a card project that did not take more than 5 (may be 6-7) minutes to put together. And I was able to use some pretty pieces of papers leftover from my previous projects to some good use. I adhered two pieces of patterned papers together and created a smaller rectangle. On this one I stamped several little birds as well as my sentiments. I rounded the top right corner of this panel. On the main card base, I added another stripe of patterned paper (leftover from this project). …

Simon Says Stamp | Sketched Flowers | Card Inspiration

Hi friends, I have been sharing a lot of die cutting based cards – with lots of dimension. But today I wanted to do some stamping and coloring instead. The stamp set I used is called Sketched Flowers and it is from Simon Says Stamp. It was released in one of the previous card kits (I think ) but this time during Stamptember, they released a matching die. My Stamptember order is not here yet, so no, I did not use the die. Instead I only stamped the image using alcohol-marker-friendly ink (Memento Tuxedo Black ink) and colored it with …

Fall themed canvas art

Hi friends, today I decided to go to town with a lot of die cutting and made two canvases that are fall themed. I mixed several different products from Spellbinders and Simon Says Stamp to make these and I am so happy to share them with you :-) Each of these is 5×7 inches. For this one, the idea to have the little squirrel hang from the tree and have the acorn came from my friend, Vinutha and I think it looks cute, don’t you? The leaves are from an older Spellbinders kit (older when the kits were called ‘Maker’s …

Simon Says Stamp | Floral Thanks card

Hello my dear friends! I am so sorry, my work and life keeping me busy adulting. And also a brand new addition to our household – our Kiara has been keeping me busy too, but in a very very good way! Check out her pictures on my Instagram feed – she had brought so much love and calm to our lives, that I did not think was possible. Thank you, #ruralanimalrescueeffort! Also, it has been rainy and gray in my neck of the woods and that’s my excuse for not crafting (= sitting with Kiara on the couch watching her sleep). …

Simon Says Stamp | You Are Loved release inspiration

Hi folks, although it is quite late in the night right now, I had to drop in with some inspiration using Fruit From The Heart stamp set. I got it in the mail only yesterday but could not wait to ink up the cute fruit images and accompanying punny sentiments. :-) For the first one, I die cut a white cardstock panel using Memory Box Wrapped Stitch die. Then I stamped the sentiments using Simon Says Stamp Black ink with the help of MISTI. On another piece of the same cardstock, I stamped the berries twice – once using Hot …

#SSSFunAndFestive – Idea 6

Alright, this is my final post for ideas using Snowflake Tags die set from Simon Says Stamps’ Fun and Festive release. And yes, it it my favorite. And yes, I saved the best for the last :-) For this one I used one of Simon’s older collaboration stamp set with Clearly Besotted Clear Stamps, the Holly Berries (discontinued, but I so wish they bring it back). I started by die cutting the tag twice, once from gold mirrored cardstock and another time from patterned paper. I also used one snowflake that I saved from a previous project, offset the two …

#SSSFunAndFestive – Idea 1

So today we are playing with #sssfunandfestive release and I have 4 tags to share with you – all of these are made using the latest Snowflake Tags die set: Tag #1 I partially die cut one of the tags from white cardstock to keep onto the top part. for the bottom part, I simply used my paper trimmer and rounded corners with a craft punch. for the main snowflake, I cut it out of a red cardstock and then pieced only the negative pieces on my white tag. Stamped a sentiment from Swell Christmas stamp set and added bling …

Simon Says Stamp Beautiful Flowers + Stamping on Colored Cardstock

Alright, today I have one more card to share using Simon Says Stamp Beautiful Flowers stamp set (and please don’t tell the other cards, but today’s set is probably my most favorite set). I started by stamping several of the individual flowers on colored cardstock and fussy cutting these out. I did some in Simon Says Stamp Cotton Candy cardstock with Studio G red ink and some others in Simon Says Stamp Lemon cardstock with Simon Says Stamp Duckling ink. I also stamped some leaves from the cluster onto Simon Says Stamp Apple Green cardstock with Simon Says Stamp Apple …

Simon Says Stamp “Sending Sunshine” Release Inspiration 1

SSS Sending Sunshine release card 1b

Hello everyone! I am so excited to share my first inspiration for “Sending Sunshine” release from Simon Says Stamp!! I also played with a new-to-me medium / technique with this card – using Mica Powder for coloring. I won an Instagram giveaway by @papersparklesz not too long ago. My prize included a box of Mica powders, so I researched online and found a way to use it on my card. :-) I started by picking a patterned paper that looks like a purple watercolored background. This paper came from the same paper pad which I used to create my gallery wall. …

One layer teacher appreciation card

Teacher Appreciation card

Hi friends, today I am sharing the second card I taught the girls in my younger one’s scout troop. This is for Teacher Appreciation. Schools in my county are in their last week for this year, so we wanted to make our teachers feel special. This stamp is by Clearly Besotted and has now been discontinued. But I will link to similar ones below. We simply stamped the apples in two colors – Lemon Twist and Watermelon inks from Simon Says Stamp. I also stamped the leaves on top using Key Lime ink (again from Simon Says Stamp). Finally I …

(Almost) One Layer Cards {and a video}

Almost one layer card- 1

Hi friends, I have an almost one layer card to share today. I love dimension on my cards but sometimes, I just want to do something more flat and today is just one such card. For this one, I used a fun technique for inking the stamps. Instead of doing dab-dab-dab on the ink pad, I rubbed the ink on top of the stamps to create those lines. Love how it added some subtle interest (almost made the images dimensional?) to the stamping. I used two distress oxide inks – Worn Lipstick and Cracked Pistachio for this card. I also …

Simon Says Best Days – New Release – Card Inspiration 3

Hi friends, we are looking at different ways to use the Big Thanks die from Simon Says Stamp’s latest release “Best Days”. Today is day 3 of 3.  You can find the previous ideas here. For this card, I combined the main word die (not the outline die) from Big Thanks die set with Brush Stroke Messages stamp set to create a fun background. I used one of the stamps and repeatedly stamped in with each of the four Altenew Shades of Purple inks. In first round, stamped each image slightly further away from each other and then I stamped …
