Congrats | Sketchy bouquet card with lots of layers

Hi guys, as I was telling some recently I have set up a challenge for myself to use every single item in my crafty stash before buying anything more. There is something a little different about me though, so not sure if this will work for each one of you – I am a creative design team member for Spellbinders, so I do get to work with their kits and other new products every month. So yes, I will be showcasing new stuff too, just trying not to make a purchase myself. I want to see how far I will …

You Are Loved – stamped and colored card

Hi guys, I am hoping you all are staying safe. Not panicking. Acting with hope, strength and grace. Yes, there is a lot of chaos and uncertainty right now in the world, but we crafters have a way to find and spread sunshine wherever we go. We have a way of making people feel that they belong, that they are not alone and that they are loved. Let’s use that superpower because this is the time when the world needs it most. For today’s card, I used a panel that was the same size as an A7 card front (5×7). …

3 more watercolored cards using Simon Says Stamp Stronger Together card kit

Namaste! Watercoloring is going strong in my neck of the woods. And lucky for me, the current Simon Says Stamp Stronger Together card kit has 3 pre-printed watercolor cards by the amazingly talented Suzy Plantamura. I used those to create these 3 cards. For all these, I used the watercolor pencils that came with the kit. Let’s look at each of them, shall we? Card 1: I used the gray, two yellows and two greens to color these daisies. Then I fussy cut them out using my Tim Holtz mini snips and Fiskars Fingertip Precision Knife. For the background, I …

Simon Says Stamp Card Kit – Stronger Together – Card 1

Hi guys, after so many days of working on die cut based cards, I am shifting to my old love – watercolors – at least for a little bit. And the perfect companion for this was this month’s Simon Says Stamp – Stronger Together card kit for March 2020. I started by die cutting a piece of Canson watercolor paper using the largest Memory Box Warped Stitched rectangle die. Then I stamped my images on it using Archival Black ink and my trusted MISTI. I used Ooku watercolor pens that I had won in a preview giveaway. These watercolor pens …

Simon Says Stamp | October 2019 card kit

Hi friends, my favorite time of the year is November – dry cold-ish weather, cozy clothes and hot soups, fall colors everywhere, and hearts filled with gratitude. What more can a girl ask for? To celebrate the coming of my favorite season, I created two Thanks cards using the October 2019 card kit by Simon Says Stamp. As usual both these are easy cards, not too difficult to mass produce and yet beautiful in every way. On both these, I did the following steps with a little variation for each card: Heat embossed the large floral cluster on sturdy scrapbook …

#SSSFunAndFestive – Idea 5

How about one more idea using #SSSFunAndFestive Snowflake Tags die set? Today I made these couple cards by layering more than one snowflake on top of another. Love the look and it helps get more out of a single set of dies. Win-win? For sure, in my book! For this first card, I only partially cut the top part using the die. I used my paper trimmer + craft punch to cut out the rest of it. Next I cut out a square from one of the patterned papers, stamped my sentiment on it and added couple snowflakes on top. …

Also, please comment about which one is your favorite… Inlaid die cutting with gold mirrored cardstock. Inlaid die cutting with white cardstock on kraft. Die cut both tags – one from white and another from gold cardstock and layer them slightly offset. Enjoy! ~Varada

#SSSFunAndFestive – Idea 3

Hello peeps, ready to continue having some more fun with Snowflake Tags die set from SSS? Here’s today’s inspiration: A couple simple shaker tags on stitched rectangle panels from matching patterned papers. I stamped my sentiment on the die cut tag before assembling it into a shaker. On the first one, I added some matching Moonshine sequins on the outside of the shake also. For the second one, the paper itself looked like a bunch of sequins were sprinkled on it, so left it as it. Easy peasy. Enjoy! ~Varada

#SSSFunAndFestive – Idea 2

Hi friends, hope you are having a great start to a weekend :-) I have one more idea to share with you using the Snowflake Tags die set from Simon Says Stamp’s latest release Fun and Festive. For each of these cards, I cut out the tag and just behind the open snowflake area, added a circle of either foiled paper, or patterned paper, or glitter cardstock. This gives a fun peek through effect that is just so pretty. I combined this peek-through-foiled-snowflake tag with a couple older SSS stamp sets to stamp additional snowflakes and a sentiment on the …

Hi my lovelies, I have one more card to share using the Big Picture Book Labrador die from Simon Says Stamp Stamptember 2018. You can check out my previous card using the same die here and the entire release here. So here’s my card for today: On this one, I created my puppy just like I did last time but with kraft cardstock this time, instead of white. I also went around the border with some Vintage Photo distress ink to make it look a bit more finished.  Also, I wanted this puppy to be a girl-puppy so in addition to giving …
