Hi crafty friends! Today is the 16th, which means time for a brand new challenge over at tic-tac-toe challenge blog. Yes, there are goodies to be won. Here’s the grid we are playing with this time: I used the middle horizontal row – white on white, use dimension, vellum – to create two cards: I did a lot of die cutting for this card using Sizzix Poinsettia dies with some white cardstock as well as vellum. I die cut a few swirlies using some silver paper as well as white cardstock. For my sentiment panel I die cut a circle …

Hello crafty friends! Today I am so excited to share my newest project with you. It is my first shadow box :-) And it meets today’s tic tac toe challenge #20 perfectly! In fact it meets several elements on the grid below. Here’s my project, which I made for a friend at work to give it to his wife on her birthday. {He told me that she loved it. Makes me so happy!} I used specialty papers (watercolor paper, vellum, patterned papers, gold foiled paper and even some papers from the cover of an old StampinUp! catalog!) a piece of …

Hello crafty friends, we have a brand new tic-tac-toe challenge for you over at Stamping Smiles Design blog. Here’s the grid: I made two cards using the almost supplies and the same row as my inspiration. Can you tell which row I went for? Yup, the first vertical one on the left – Spinner Card + Watercolor + Use puns. I created the top card first. It was kind of a practice piece, but it turned out good, so decided to go ahead and share it here. I started by die cutting two hearts from Strathmore watercolor paper using one of …

1st of the month is here and we have a brand new challenge at Stamping Smiles Design Tic-Tac-Toe. Here’s the grid: I chose the left most vertical row with color inspiration (I chose the picture below), Alpha Stamps and Background Wash. {Source} Here’s what I created: I used Strathmore Watercolor paper and second largest stitched rectangle die to cut out my main panel. Next I stamped my sentiments. To line up all my alpha stamps, I used MISTI and a piece of scratch paper where I drew a straight line with a pencil. Using the line as my guide, I …

Hi friends, I hope you are having fun playing along with Tic-Tac-Toe challenge #18. I have created a card using the middle row: Friendship + Blues and Greens + Ink Blending. Here’s my card featuring the August 2016 My Monthly Hero Kit from Hero Arts.  As you will notice, this is a shaped card – it is oval and not a regular rectangular card. Below is a quick tip video I made showing two ways to make such shaped cards. The large oval die that comes with My Monthly Hero August 2016 card kit makes creating oval cards a breeze. To read rest of the …

Stamping Smiles Design Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge #18

teacher card 1

Hello friends, it is the 16th which means a brand new tic-tac-toe challenge on Stamping Smiles Designs blog. I picked the right most vertical row and made a card for a teacher that has texture and ink blending. I started by adding some light ink blending using mermaid lagoon and cracked pistachio distress inks on my card front. I also used my Darice brick wall embossing folder to add texture on it. Next I prepared a tag as my focal point. I used MFT stamps dienamics blueprint to die cut it out of a patterned paper from Lawn Fawn. On this tag, …

Hello and welcome. It’s time for the next tic-tac-toe challenge by Stamping Smiles Design. Here’s the grid: I picked the right most row as it inspired me to start creating my thanks-giving cards :-) I used the Sketched Ranunculus stamp set by Simon Says Stamp with beautiful fall colors to make two thank-you cards. I also got to use some of my recent crafty haul from SSS.  First card I stamped the two flowers from the stamp set on a piece of white card stock, using crushed berries distress ink. This time the grid is: And here’s the photo for the photo inspiration: I went with the bottom row – clothespin + birthday + patterned paper and made this one: I used patterned paper from the Echo Park Spring paper pack to make the tag and the banner. This pack came in the March 2016 SSS card kit. When making a project, I like to use papers from one single pack. Paper packs like these are already color coordinated.  My Favorite Things dienamics helped with all the …

Stamping Smiles Design Tic-Tac-Toe challenge 15

Hi friends, it’s time for another challenge over at Stamping Smiles Design – Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge #15. This is so full of fun combinations and I decided to go with the first vertical row – Burlap, Word Dies and Bokeh Effect. Bokeh or the blur effect was a very popular technique among card makers, not too long ago. To make this effect you can use stencils or even stamps. You stamp same image in different sizes multiple time slightly overlapping. Mostly this technique is done using circles – stencils or stamps, but circles. I decided to change it a little bit and go with stars. …

ssd tic-tac-toe challenge 14 reveal

Hi peeps, it’s time for  challenge #14 over at SSD tic-tac-toe challenge blog. Here’s the grid for this one: For this one, I picked the horizontal top row and made a simple yet pretty card. This is one of my favorite card making formulas / layout, and with the doodled look of these Altenew stamp images, it works really well. To begin with, I die cut a panel from Strathmore watercolor paper using the largest rectangle die from SSS Stitched rectangle dies. I used my MISTI to come up with an arrangement of all the little images from Altenew Beautiful You …
